Job Profile and Responsibilities

Selected candidates will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI for field-level data collection and management as part of the National Mental Health Survey.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conducting psychiatric survey interviews using structured tools.
  • Travelling extensively to different survey sites across Tamil Nadu.
  • Liaising with local health authorities and coordinators to organize data collection.
  • Ensuring daily data backups and timely submission.
  • Preparing daily/weekly reports, maintaining records and logs as per protocol.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the PI or Co-PI as required.

This role demands a high level of discipline, accuracy in data entry, sensitivity in handling mental health assessments, and professional conduct with survey participants.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
    • Psychology
    • Social Work
    • Public Health
    • Sociology

    • Or any related social science/public health domain

Desirable Experience:

  1. Work experience in government/state-level projects or health programs.
  2. Ability to communicate fluently in Tamil – this is mandatory.
