Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has released its latest faculty recruitment notification for 2025. Applications are invited for Professor and Assistant Professor positions at the Puducherry and Karaikal campuses.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications & Experience

Microbiology

• Professor: MD in Microbiology + 14 years of teaching/research experience.
• Assistant Professor: MD in Microbiology + 3 years of teaching/research experience.

Pharmacology

• Professor (Medical): MD in Pharmacology + 14 years of teaching/research experience.
• Professor (Non-Medical): Master’s + PhD in Pharmacology/allied subjects + 14 years of experience.

Note: DNB holders must fulfill NMC equivalence conditions as per the 2018 notification.

Application Process

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Apply Online: Between 2nd June and 1st July 2025 at jipmer.edu.in.
2. Upload Required Documents: Recent photograph & signature (50 KB – 200 KB, JPEG/JPG).
3. Pay Application Fee (online only):
   • UR/OBC/EWSs: ₹1,500 + charges
   • SC/ST: ₹1,200 + charges
   • PwBD: Exempted
4. Submit Hard Copy:
   • By Registered/Speed Post to:
     Assistant Administrative Officer,
     Admn. 4 (Faculty Wing), Second Floor, Administrative Block,
     JIPMER, Dhanvantari Nagar, Puducherry 605 006

     • One for certificates (a–j)

Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025)

• Professor: Not exceeding 58 years
• Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 50 years

Relaxations as per Govt. norms for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Govt. servants.

Selection Process

• Personal Interview / Online via Video Conferencing
• Written exam may be conducted if number of applicants is high.
• Final selection by Standing Selection Committee.

Important Notes

• Separate applications required for:
  • Posts at both campuses (Puducherry & Karaikal)
  • Applying for both Professor and Assistant Professor roles
• Canvassing will lead to disqualification.
• Candidates selected for Karaikal cannot request transfer to Puducherry.
