IOCL Apprentice Vacancy 2025: Refinery-wise Details
IOCL has announced apprentice positions across multiple trades and disciplines such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Accounts, Secretarial Assistant, and Data Entry Operator. These positions are available at nine refineries:
- Guwahati, Assam
- Digboi, Assam
- Bongaigaon, Assam
- Barauni, Bihar
- Gujarat (Vadodara)
- Haldia, West Bengal
- Mathura, Uttar Pradesh
- Panipat, Haryana
- Paradip, Odisha
The duration of training varies between 12 to 24 months depending on the discipline. The trades are broadly classified into:
- Trade Apprentice (e.g., Fitter, Boiler, Accountant, Secretarial Assistant, Data Entry Operator)
- Technician Apprentice (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation)
Eligibility Criteria for IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2025
To be eligible for the apprenticeship, candidates must meet the educational qualification and age criteria.
Educational Qualification:
- Trade Apprentices:
- Attendant Operator: B.Sc. in PCM or Industrial Chemistry
- Fitter: ITI in Fitter Trade
- Boiler: B.Sc. in PCM
- Secretarial Assistant: B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com
- Accountant: B.Com
- Data Entry Operator: Class XII pass (Fresher or Skill Certified)
- Technician Apprentices:
- Diploma in relevant engineering disciplines (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation)
Age Limit (as on 31-05-2025):
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 24 years
- Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years (additional for reserved categories)
Candidates must not have undergone apprenticeship earlier or possess higher qualifications such as B.E/B.Tech, MBA, CA, etc.

Selection Process of IOCL Apprentice 2025
There is no written test. The selection will be purely based on:
- Percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification.
- In case of a tie, older candidates (based on date of birth) will be preferred.
- PwBD candidates availing relaxation will be considered against reserved seats only.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification at respective refinery locations.

Candidates must complete both Step I (on NAPS/NATS portal) and Step II (on IOCL’s recruitment portal) to successfully apply.
Step I: Register on NAPS or NATS Portal
- For Trade Apprentices (Codes 101–103, 108–111): Register on NAPS Portal
- For Technician Apprentices (Codes 104–107): Register on NATS Portal
Use the Establishment IDs provided in the notification to locate and apply for IOCL opportunities.
Step II: Apply on IOCL Recruitment Portal
- Visit www.iocrefrecruit.in
- Choose the refinery and trade
- Fill out the application form
- Upload scanned photo, signature, and required documents
- Submit and save a copy of the application form for future reference
Note: Incomplete applications or mismatch between NATS/NAPS and IOCL application will be rejected.
