Eligibility Criteria – Assistant Professor Grade-I
To apply for the Assistant Professor position, candidates must meet the following academic and professional requirements:
Educational Qualification
- PhD in relevant field with a first class (≥60%) or equivalent CGPA in the preceding degree.

Salary, Benefits & Career Progression
Selected candidates will be appointed as Assistant Professor Grade-I with the following benefits:
- Pay Level 12: ₹1,01,500/- initial basic pay.
- Eligible for Pay Level 13A1 (₹1,31,400/-) after 3 years of service based on performance.
- Age of superannuation: 65 years.

Selection Process at IISER Kolkata
The recruitment involves a multi-level screening process:
- Initial Screening: Done by Department Faculty Advisory Committee (DFAC).
- Presentation & Seminar: Shortlisted candidates may be invited to present their research.
- Interview: Final shortlist by Institute Faculty Advisory Committee (IFAC) based on academic merit, publications, and fit with departmental needs.
